The authorities in Vietnam summoned a noodle seller known as “Salt Bae” for questioning over a video that mocked the fitness guru and appeared to have been made using his own recipe.

A private company based in the central city of Nha Trang issued the one-minute, five-second video and disseminated it on social media to satirize the popularity of Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, known as Salt Bae.

The video shows people serving the 35-year-old chef noodles that taste like urine, and one holding a cooking pan full of ramen noodles that have him urinating into it.

In another scene, a man dries his hands on a shelf outside a convenience store, coming out to find a person has urinated in his new sofa and moved it.

The private company director called upon nationalist bloggers after he discovered the recipes being posted on WeChat and Pingshu, the app used by smartphone users in Vietnam.

Over the past two weeks, the video has been viewed more than 11 million times and elicited more than 44,000 comments, some of them praising the ingenuity of the editing team and mocking Gökçe’s diet.
